About Us

Experts Live began in 2009 as a one-time user group gathering in the Netherlands, with around 60 attendees and 3 speakers. It was initiated by Maarten Goet and Raymond Comvalius (MVP) during a local community meet-up organized by Gerard Verbrugge of Microsoft. Originally called "MVP Live", it was later renamed by Maarten as Experts Live.

In our mission to 'enable sharing of knowledge and experience about Microsoft technologies worldwide,' we are very proud of our current position. We are active on 4 continents, hosting at least 12 international Experts Live events each year and reaching thousands of Microsoft tech enthusiasts around the world. And our work is not done. But as we move forward, we are proud to look back and see how far we have come. Take a look at Experts Live through the years:

Experts Live through the years

Due to popular demand, Experts Live was held again with around 120 attendees and 2 parallel tracks.

2010

By 2013, the event had over 650 attendees, 30+ sessions, and a keynote featuring an astronaut.

2013

Recognizing the growing demand for knowledge sharing, we formalized the initiative as a non-profit organization in 2012.

2012

In 2011, the event grew to over 250 attendees with 4 parallel tracks and a keynote.

2011

In 2014 and 2015, the event attracted over 1100 attendees, with 45+ sessions, two keynotes, and numerous international speakers and attendees.

2014-2015

Today, Experts Live has expanded its global reach to four continents, hosting over twelve international events annually and inspiring a community of more than 5,000 participants.

Present

In 2017, Experts Live started its mission to support Microsoft communities worldwide.

2017

The 2016 event saw its highest attendance to date, with 1400 attendees, 50+ sessions, 9 tracks, 2 keynotes, and over 20 MVPs sharing their knowledge.

Our Team

Meet some of the faces behind making Experts Live events happen around the world. These are our board members and Steering Committee.

Our non-profit organization assists Microsoft communities globally that are interested in organizing their own Experts Live events.

We offer them support with logistics, knowledge sharing, and other valuable assistance. In exchange, we request the organizers of these regional or continental events to join the Steering Committee, where they, in turn, can provide guidance and contribute to shaping future Experts Live events worldwide.
